Enroute to Dingle

Lunch in Alore at The Blue Door, scenic views and an overnight at Lahinch

Slea Head drive along the Dingle Peninsula

One of Ireland’s most scenic routes along part of the Wild Altantic Way. We travelled clockwise in order not to meet any tour buses on this very narrow single lane road. Along the way, we saw beehive huts, Coumeenoole Beach, Gallarus Oratory and Kilmalkedar Monastery.

Dingle Darkroom photo tour

One evening, we went on a guided photography tour with George, from Dingle Darkroom. This gave us the opportunity to see the area with the expertise of a local.

Killarney National Park

While in Killarney we toured the Ross Castle, which was completely restore to its original state using construction methods of the time. We wandered through the Muckross Abbey and hiked to the Torc Falls.

Ring of Kerry

Our drive around the Ring of Kerry took a full day, with stops along the way. We wandered around Portmagee. Hiked to the edge of the Kerry Cliffs, where we could see the Skellig islands in the distance. Enjoyed lunch in Waterville and the meandered our way back to the B&B.

As the ruins of this castle exist on private land, we obtained permission from the land owner to wander around the castle site. This was a […]

Kilkenny

Our last day of touring was in Kilkenny. We wandered in the town and on Kilkenny Castle site.

London

We had tours of Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral. We traveled by the train to Warner Brother Studios for the “The […]
