One of Ireland’s most scenic routes along part of the Wild Altantic Way. We travelled clockwise in order not to meet any tour buses on this very narrow single lane road. Along the way, we saw beehive huts, Coumeenoole Beach, Gallarus Oratory and Kilmalkedar Monastery.

One evening, we went on a guided photography tour with George, from Dingle Darkroom. This gave us the opportunity to see the area with the expertise of a local.

While in Killarney we toured the Ross Castle, which was completely restore to its original state using construction methods of the time. We wandered through the Muckross Abbey and hiked to the Torc Falls.

Our drive around the Ring of Kerry took a full day, with stops along the way. We wandered around Portmagee. Hiked to the edge of the Kerry Cliffs, where we could see the Skellig islands in the distance. Enjoyed lunch in Waterville and the meandered our way back to the B&B.

During this trip, we wanted to find an O’Keeffe castle, so after a few wrong turns we came upon Dromaugh Castle, which was once held by an O’Keeffe chieftain. Upon arrival in London, our first place to explore was the British Museum. We walked over the Westminster Bridge to the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben was beginning to be covered with scaffolding.
