In June 2019, we explored a bit of Ireland for two weeks. My childhood penpal joined us for part of our journey. We visited Dublin, Trim, Kilronan Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, Killnarney and Kilkenney.

Our time in Ireland, began in Dublin. We enjoyed a tour with Sandeman’s Free Walking tour with Cieran as our guide. We explored St. Patrick’s Cathedral, toured Christ Church Cathedral. One of Ireland’s most scenic routes along part of the Wild Altantic Way. We travelled clockwise in order not to meet any tour buses on this very narrow single lane road. Along the way, we saw beehive huts, Coumeenoole Beach, Gallarus Oratory and Kilmalkedar Monastery.

One evening, we went on a guided photography tour with George, from Dingle Darkroom. This gave us the opportunity to see the area with the expertise of a local.

While in Killarney we toured the Ross Castle, which was completely restore to its original state using construction methods of the time. We wandered through the Muckross Abbey and hiked to the Torc Falls.
